3D Flyknit Bags – Knitted to Shape on Computerised Flat-Knitting Machines

The knit technology of performance footwear, applied to bags: panels knitted to shape, patterns built into the fabric.

A 3D flyknit bag is knitted to its final shape on a computerised flat-knitting machine instead of being cut from rolls of fabric. Pattern, texture and logo are knitted in, and the panel needs far less cutting and sewing, so there is little offcut waste. We use the technique for totes, shoulder bags, sport bags and pouches.

Frequently asked questions

Is flyknit the same as 3D knitting?

'Flyknit' is the popular name for the look; the production method is 3D or fully-fashioned knitting on computerised flat-knitting machines, which shape the panel while knitting it.

Is a flyknit bag more expensive than a canvas tote?

Usually more than a basic printed canvas tote, because each panel is machine-knitted and finished. In return the pattern and logo are part of the fabric and the bag looks and feels premium.
